The bay is in a favorable position, protected from winds blowing from the southeast and northwest. It connects to Delvina basin and Finiq via the neck "Qafa e Gjashtes", while to Butrint in the south via Ksamil peninsula. Positioning on one of the most important maritime routes, it is a key role in the development of trade relations.
