Description

The Ecomuseum of Zvërnec is a unique complex of its kind in the territory of Vlora Municipality and the entire national territory. Located in the spaces of the abandoned bunker-gallery ensemble of the Albanian Army - very close to the Monastery of Zvërnec - the Ecomuseum has taken shape in recent years and is becoming a new attraction for the South of Albania.
It combines the magnificence of the Vjosë-Nartë Protected Landscape, from where the entire Bay of Vlora is dominated, elements of the historical heritage and the traces of the cold war that are present in the bunkers in front of the sea, the hill of the Lighthouse of Zvrnec, from where you can observe all of Vlora and Myzeqeja, as well as the magnificent estuary of the Vjosa River, now a National Park.
The Ecomuseum facility is not only the Museum Hall located in the Former Soldiers' Village, which is connected by an underground tunnel of 150 meters to the 4 large Bunkers facing the sea, it is not only the Street-Art route to the facades of these bunkers, where specimens of species protected by the Washington Convention and the SDG of the United Nations are reflected, they are not only internal exhibits with tables and showcases or virtual ones that perform educational functions with important scientific-informative value.
