Since it hosts important species of birds and plants, Vjosa-Narta is classifled as an important area for birds and plants internationally. In addition to the fascinating ecosystem that nature has created here, the area also hides cultural heritage and diversity in terms of customs, traditions and architecture. It is worth visiting the beautiful island of Zvernec, covered almost completely with tall cypress-Ilke trees that form the Zvernec Forest. This forest has the status of Natural Monument. The northern part of the Vjosa-Narta Protected Landscape is bordered by the River Vjosa, which is considered one of the last wild rivers in Europe.
